Didcot is a thriving and very modern shopping town set in the Oxfordshire countryside. It boasts a wide selection of shops, including a large Sainsbury's superstore, which offers two hours free parking. The store is easy to reach by the M4 or M40 motorways, taking the A34 exit and following the dual carraigeway to the outskirts of Didcot. The alworths store, which is located in the Orchard Centre, a pedestrian precinct, is just a short walk from the main Didcot Parkway British Rail Station. There is ample parking close by, either pay-and-display (signposted 'Orchard Centre' and accessed from Broadway) or free if you are visiting Sainsbury's, accessed from Hitchcock Way. If planning a day out, Didcot also boasts a steam railway with a visitor centre, which is a popular tourist destination just a few steps away. The alworths store stocks a comprehensive range of sweets, stationery, cards and partyware, home, kitchen and bathroom products as well as having a large toy department. The new look store still has plenty of room to browse. Store Manager Helen Pook (pictured in the centre foreground below) and her very proud of their store and make a point of greeting and getting to know their customers with a traditional Oxfordshire welcome.
